What’s The Truth Behind Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala 2024 Dress Which Was Previously Wore By Winona Ryder?

The dress Kendall Jenner wore at the Met Gala 2024 was previously worn by Winona Ryder, but Winona didn't wear the original piece. It was replica of original dress.

At the 2024 Met Gala, Kendall Jenner made history by donning an archival Givenchy dress, which the model claimed to be the “first human to wear.” Fans quickly expressed their views on social media. As soon as the pictures were released, viewers noticed that Winona Ryder also seems to have worn the gown in a 1999 photo shoot for Flaunt Magazine. Then you must be thinking what the truth is? As per Enews reported, Winona’s dress “was a replica of the original presentation look,” which had “never been worn prior to Kendall’s appearance at the 2024 Met Gala.”

This dress was originally created by Alexander McQueen as a black and nude tulle gown with a sculpted shoulder and neckline for Givenchy’s Fall-Winter 1999 Haute Couture presentation. It also included over 500 hours of hand embroidery and waist cutouts that revealed a glimpse of Kendall’s behind. The Kardashians star told Vogue that she was unable to alter the dress because it had been stored in the Givenchy archives before the gala and would be returning there immediately following the occasion. Fortunately for Kendall, she said the dress “just fit perfectly.”

On the biggest night in fashion, Kendall didn’t wear just one vintage item. She also dazzled at after-parties in a white Givenchy by Alexander McQueen spring/summer 1997 ensemble that included a white silk satin waterfall skirt and a white lamb leather and feather corset. The model maintained the angelic theme with a third dress, wearing a beaded lace ensemble by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood that included a gold silver corset with bell sleeves and scalloped edges.
