Hollywood Actor Ben Platt Upset After Being Asked About Nepo Baby Issue, ‘We’re Going To Skip Right Over,’ Says Actor

The actor's publicist stepped in, requesting, "Let's shift our focus to Theater Camp, if possible."

A Hollywood actor recently became upset when asked about nepotism during an interview. Actor Ben Platt, who was being interviewed by The Rolling Stone to promote his new show Theater Camp, which was released in American cinemas on Friday.

However, when the topic of nepotism was brought up, the situation turned awkward. The actor was asked to respond to New York Magazine’s December 19 issue titled “The Year of the Nepo Baby,” where eight celebrities, including Ben Platt, were featured on the front page. The issue’s title read, “She has her mother’s eyes and agent.”

Reporter EJ Dickson asked Platt, “You were on the cover of New York Magazine’s Nepo Baby issue. I’m curious, what was your response to that? And what do you make of that whole discourse?”

Platt replied, “We’re going to skip right over that if we can.”

The actor’s publicist then intervened, saying, “If we could just focus on Theater Camp, that would be great.”

However, shortly after that, the interview was abruptly cut short by Rolling Stone as the actor did not appreciate the nepotism question.

It is worth noting that Ben Platt’s father is a prominent producer in Hollywood, having worked on films like La La Land, Cruella, and the upcoming three Legally Blondes. He recently produced Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
