Gary Oldman Would Have Portrayed Sirius Black From Harry Potter In Quite A Different Way, Know Why

Gary Oldman feels that his work in "Harry Potter" was mediocre, it was of average quality; he could portray Sirius Black in more efficient way.

Gary Oldman has done a variety of roles throughout his career in the Hollywood industry, but is mainly known for the amazing character of Sirius Black from the movie “Harry Potter”. Gary’s Sirius Black was so convincing that he is one of the most favourite characters of many from the Harry Potter Franchise. Though he came much later in Harry Potter fame and had life for only 4 parts, he made a strong impact of his presence on the Potterheads. But still the actor feels that his work in Harry Potter was mediocre, it was of average quality.

In a conversation with Josh Horowitz, he talked about his role in the movie Harry Potter. He mentioned that he didn’t read any books when the character was assigned to him. And how he was guessing the plot of the movie about who would die next in the movie. But later on he got upset to know that it was his character. He talked about his off-screen bond with Severus Snape, played by Alan Rickman. Snape had read all the books, and he was aware of the details of the movie.

Among all the other characters he played, Sirius came much in the limelight. Gary said that he could have done much better work for that character. But he had not read any of the books of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. He said that if he had read the books earlier like Alan Rickman, he would have played the character in a different way than what he did.

This 65-year-old actor has proved his skills by winning an Academy Award for his role of Winston Churchill in the biographical drama “Darkest Hour”. Recently, he was seen in the OTT series “Slow Horses”.
