Jacob will star as Elvis Presley and Cailee Spaeny plays Pricilla in the upcoming biopic. The much-anticipated biographical film is currently in production. The biopic film will focus on Elvis and Priscilla’s life together before they became cultural icons. However, no further details have been released about the project which has made it one of the most talked about films yet to be released.

Meanwhile, some of the first images from the set surfaced in November after filming had begun a month prior. For the unversed, born Priscilla Ann Wagner (changed by adoption to Beaulieu) in 1945 and the daughter of a U.S. Navy pilot, the New York City native was only 14 when she caught the eye of a then 24-year-old Elvis during his military service in Germany in late 1959.

After he returned home to the US, they kept in touch via phone calls – before she eventually convinced her parents to let her move to Memphis, Tennessee full-time to be with him in 1963. Priscilla spent eight years in a relationship with Elvis before they wed in a Las Vegas ceremony in 1967. The pair welcomed one daughter – Lisa Marie, now 54 – during their marriage.

Priscilla and Elvis divorced in 1973 over the Blue Suede Shoes hitmaker’s infidelities, with Elvis tragically dying just four years later aged 42 from a heart attack. According to Deadline, the filmmaker met with several performers before selecting Elordi as the movie’s lead. It was also reported that Spaeny, however, was always the director’s first choice to play Priscilla.

The movie will be based on the 77-year-old media personality’s biography Elvis And Me, which was originally published in 1985. The book became a New York Times bestseller upon its release and also sold well internationally. The biography was adapted into a television film three years later, with Susan Walters and Dale Midkiff portraying the writer and singer, respectively.
