Euphoria star Jacob Elordi is a Hollywood heartthrob. However, the actor was not as the same a decade ago. Elordi was an unknown Australian model whose first brush with fame came at a ‘Fashions on the Field’ event during racing season. Recently, photos have resurfaced of Jacob sporting some rather questionable attire on Stakes Day in 2014.
The pictures were rediscovered by the Instagram snark account Celeb Spellcheck, and show the actor, then 15, accepting his award. Jacob won Fashions on the Field twice as a teenager, first in 2012 then again two years later. A series of the photos showed a young Elordi wearing a fedora with a white shirt, houndstooth blazer and bow tie.
Meanwhile, other pictures showed Jacob wearing a more refined blue blazer, along with a bow tie and checkered fedora, plus white jeans and tan shoes. As soon the photos resurfaced online, fans went into frenzzy over the throwback photos, with some saying he looked like a member of the Young Liberals, the youth branch of Australia’s conservative party.
Others joked that it ‘must have been a rough year’ at Stakes Day if Elordi was able to win Fashions on the Field with such a lame outfit. At the time, Elordi was still years away from landing the role of Nate on Euphoria, which catapulted him to global fame. Previously, the actor told British GQ how he had just $400 left when he landed the audition for the series in LA and was sleeping in his car on Mulholland Drive.
While discussing his financial struggles before landing his breakout role, Elordi said, “I wasn’t booking jobs, I think I had – I don’t know, $400 or $800 left in my bank account – and Euphoria was my last audition before I went home for a little while to make some money and recuperate.”
Jacob Elordi starred as Nate Jacobs in HBO hit series Euphoria. Elordi play a high school athlete who struggles to control his anger issues, which mask his s*xual insecurities. Euphoria season 2 recently hit the streaming platform and already won many hearts. The hit series has also renewed for season 3.
