Britney Spears Files Police Complaint After Alleged Slap to the Face by NBA Star’s Bodyguard

Pop Singer Britney Spears Seeks Legal Action After Disturbing Encounter with Victor Wembanyama's Bodyguard

Pop singer Britney Spears has alleged that she was slapped in the face by NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s bodyguard, prompting her to file a police complaint. Sharing this traumatic experience on her Instagram account, Spears expressed, “Traumatic experiences are not new to me, and I have had my fair share of them. I was not prepared for what happened to me last night.” She explained that she initially recognised the NBA star Victor Wembanyama in her hotel lobby and decided to meet and congratulate him on his success when she saw the athlete for the second time.

The incident occurred on Thursday at the Aria Hotel in Los Angeles. Spears recounted that the environment was loud, and she tapped him on the back to get his attention. However, the encounter took an ugly turn. She stated, “His security then backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd, nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses to fall off my face.”

Spears emphasised that she does not find the situation amusing and found it demoralising to witness the player’s smile and laughter following the incident. Given the significant height difference between them (with Spears being 5’3″ and Wembanyama standing at 7’4″), she appreciated the tremendous love and support she has received. She expressed gratitude to the Las Vegas Police Department and the detectives for their assistance.

According to reports, Britney Spears has filed a police report. The Guardian has reported a police statement that reads, “On July 5, 2023, at approximately 11 pm, LVMPD officers responded to a property in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard regarding a battery investigation. The incident has been documented on a police report, and no arrest or citations have been issued. No further details will be provided at this time.”
