Abby Lee Miller, known for her outspoken nature on “Dance Moms,” recently shared her candid thoughts on Britney Spears’ dance videos, expressing a shift in her perception from admiration to discomfort.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Miller, 58, reflected on Spears’ earlier dance prowess, praising her confidence and skill. She reminisced about Spears’ performances akin to those of Jennifer Lopez, highlighting the athleticism and authenticity in her movements.
“‘Toxic’ and ‘…Baby One More Time’ showcased her dancing ability,” Miller reminisced. However, she believes Spears’ current dance content lacks the same finesse, attributing it to a detachment from her dance roots and a failure to adapt to evolving trends in the industry.
Miller criticized Spears’ fashion choice of low-rise pants, asserting that they visually distort her proportions, making her legs appear shorter. Urging Spears to raise her waistline to elongate her figure, Miller emphasized the importance of proportion in dance aesthetics.
Despite her intentions to offer constructive feedback, Miller acknowledged facing severe backlash for her remarks on Spears’ dance videos. She expressed frustration at being labeled negatively when attempting to provide guidance.
This isn’t the first time Miller has commented on Spears’ dancing. In a previous instance in March 2021, Miller advised Spears to adjust her posture, prompting criticism from fans who found her remarks intrusive and unnecessarily critical.
Fans of Spears defended her, citing her right to express herself, especially considering the challenges she faced under her conservatorship, which ended later that year.
