On the other hand, Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan has made a historic comeback on our television as it has proved to be an absolute blessing for everyone locked in their houses during this lockdown period. The makers began the shows re-run on DD National a days ago and within four episodes it managed to garner 170 million views, which is the highest ever rating recorded.

Earlier, Arun Govil, who plays Lord Ram, thought Ramayan re-telecast was a perfect way to teach the younger generation about Ramayan’s “morals, teachings, and principles.” He said, “The new generation will get a chance to watch it. They will get to understand the morals, teachings, and values of Ramayan. If they will watch it with the family, they can interact also. If they have queries then their family members of the older generation can explain things. It is a family show. How relationships should be…has been shown in the show. Positivity is there. Right now there is a lockdown, you can’t go anywhere. So watching it will be a good way to use the time,”
