We have seen fabulous performances of Hrithik on screen. He has always been like a superhero, but that one character of him from the film Kaabil released in the year 2017 was indeed amazing. The Kaabil film was directed by Sanjay Gupta and starred Hrithik Roshan, Yami Gautam and Ronit Roy. Ronit Roy a senior actor from the industry who once enjoyed the era of being a superstar. Before, Kaabil Ronit didn’t get any opportunity to work with Hrithik Roshan though they both knew each other for many years. In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, Ronit Roy shared his experience of working with Hrithik. He narrated an incident when Hrithik Roshan had a problem with Ronit Roy.
Ronit Roy worked with Rakesh Roshan (Gudduji). He had fantastic experience working with him, but when it came to working with his son Hrithik Roshan, the situation was quite different. He said, “I have known Hrithik Roshan since his first movie and I know he is Guddu ji’s son. But when you are cast in a film where he is a star, you really don’t know what to do. So, you take a safe route. So, saying ‘Good Morning Sir’ is the safest way to call him, because with some actors you don’t know. I have spent time with him but I have never worked with him. So one day went by, and next day we were having lunch and there was a knock on my door. The guy said ‘HR sir is calling’. And things are going in my head, ‘What happened?’, ‘Did I do something wrong ?’”
Ronit was too tense because he was unaware of the fact that he had done something. He was trying hard to remember but he failed. Ahead he continued. “I went to his van and said, ‘Can I come in?’, His entourage was there, he said to the guys, ‘Can you…’ and they left. He said, ‘Ronit, I have a problem with you.’ I said, ‘Tell me Sir.’ He said, ‘This, this, Sir… I didn’t understand this. You are calling me sir. This is not going to work with me. I find it difficult to be your friend if you are calling me Sir all the time. You call me Duggu. You used to call me Duggu. Why are you suddenly calling me Sir?”
Ronit said that experience was wonderful, which later helped them to work fluently and naturally on screen and made the movie a commercial hit.
