Ajay Bahl Giving Reason Behind His ‘Incomplete’ Comment On ‘The Lady Killer’

After creating much confusion with his own words, finally, filmmaker Ajay Bahl clarified the intention behind his comment.  He said that whatever he said was a humorous take on the ongoing rumours of the completion status of the movie.

Director of the recently released film ‘The Lady Killer’ Ajay Bahl was questioned by many for his weird comment on his own film. He called his own film ‘The Lady Killer’ ‘Incomplete’. But now he has clarified what his words meant. This big budget film had the worst box office collection on the 1st day. On opening day, the film earned only Rs. 38000. It received mixed comments from the audience though the trailer seems extremely exciting and mysterious.

What did Ajay Bahl comment?

Ajay Bahl commented on a YouTube video of Tired & Refused Productions saying, “To confirm, yes, the movie is incomplete. 30 pages of the 117-page screenplay were never shot. A huge number of connecting scenes—Arjun and Bhumi’s entire romance, Bhumi’s dependence on alcohol, Ajrun’s sense of being trapped and losing everything and having to run from town, his sense of total despair—all these psychological beats are missing. So yes, it’s no surprise that the film feels choppy and disjointed and one finds it hard to connect with the characters.”

Ajay Bahl’s words put everyone in a query. But he didn’t blame both the stars, Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, for the film’s failure. He appreciated the efforts these two actors had made.

Covering his words with the label of ‘Humour’

After creating much confusion with his own words, finally, filmmaker Ajay Bahl clarified the intention behind his comment.  He said that whatever he said was a humorous take on the ongoing rumours of the completion status of the movie. He said, “I understand that humour and sarcasm can sometimes be misinterpreted. I want to emphasise that ‘Ladykiller’ is a complete film which has been released for the audiences and I am immensely proud of this project.” Though he has turned up his meaning, it doesn’t seem like people agree with him.

What is the film about?

This film is based on the novel ‘The Lady Killer’ by Pawan Sony.  It is the story of a pharmacist who gets into a murder plan with a woman at a prince’s villa.

The 45 crore budget film almost crashed at the box office as there were only 12 theatres in the country where it was screened on November 3. There are chances that makers will plan its OTT release soon.
