When Ranbir Kapoor Was Slapped Hard By His Principal: ‘Us Thappad Ki Goonj Mere Kaano Mein Abhi Bhi Sunayi Deti Hai’

Ranbir revealed that his love for football began in school, and his mother, actor Neetu Kapoor, still has a newspaper clipping of the first time he scored a goal.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been one of the most successful actors in the industry and has also been acclaimed for his acting skills. However, many may not know that the actor is a great copier, as he himself revealed. In an interview with Hauser’s YouTube channel, the actor shared a childhood memory of being slapped so hard that he still vividly remembers the incident.

“I think I was a great copier, so I never got caught copying. But I remember this one instance when I was in the seventh or eighth grade. I was crawling out of my class while the class was in session, and while I was crawling, the principal came and stood in front of me. I received the beating of my life; he really whacked me. us thappad ki goonj mere kaano mein abhi bhi sunayi deti hai. I still remember that moment,” he reminisced.

The actor is also an avid football lover and makes sure to play whenever he gets free time. He even owns a football team, Mumbai City FC, and can often be spotted cheering for them during matches.

Ranbir revealed that his love for football began in school, and his mother, actor Neetu Kapoor, still has a newspaper clipping of the first time he scored a goal during a school competition, earning a mention in the newspaper.

“My true calling was football. I was selected for the football team when I was in the sixth grade, and I remember that in one of our competitions, I scored a goal. My name appeared on the back page of The Times of India, where all the interschool scorers’ names were listed,” recalled the actor.

“So, the first time my name appeared in the newspaper was because I scored a goal, and my mum cut out the newspaper clipping, which she still has. I think it was one of the biggest moments I still cherish,” he shared.

On the work front, the actor’s next project is the highly anticipated movie “Animal,” in which he stars alongside Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
