Regarding the personal rumors, Meenakshi emphasized that both she and Santoshi made a conscious decision not to comment publicly, opting for a dignified silence.

Meenakshi Sheshadri, a celebrated actress known for her stellar performances in iconic films like “Ghayal” and “Shahenshah,” addressed past rumours surrounding her alleged relationship with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi during the ’90s. Speaking to Times of India few years back, she shed light on the speculated relationship that never materialized and its impact on their professional collaboration.

“When all this news broke out and whatever supposed problems happened, Mr. Yash Chopra and Mr. Amjad Khan intervened to put ‘Damini’ back on track. Mr. Santoshi and I also decided that we will put everything behind us and make ‘Damini’ as the best film,” Meenakshi explained, referring to the film “Damini” directed by Santoshi.

Regarding the personal rumors, Meenakshi emphasized that both she and Santoshi made a conscious decision not to comment publicly, opting for a dignified silence. “Jo bhi personal baaten hui hoon, is taraf se ye hua, us taraf se ye hua, hum dono ne faisala kiya that we won’t comment. And it was the most dignified thing to do. Plus, it was the right thing to do,” she added.

Meenakshi moved forward with her life, marrying Harish Mysore in 1995, and the couple now shares a daughter and a son. Rajkumar Santoshi later married Manila, and they became parents to Ram and Tanisha.

Their professional collaboration continued despite the personal rumors, with “Ghayal” (1990) marking their initial film together. This action-packed venture directed by Santoshi featured Meenakshi alongside Sunny Deol, Amrish Puri, and others. Their cinematic journey further expanded with “Ghatak” (1996), an intense action thriller starring Sunny and Meenakshi, further cementing their collaboration.

Meenakshi’s candid revelation provides insight into how personal dignity and professionalism prevailed amidst the industry’s speculations, showcasing a remarkable sense of resilience and dedication to their craft.
