Vivek Agnihotri Reacts To Facing Trolls Over His “Beef Remark”

Vivek Agnihotri finally breaks the silence on facing trolls over his beef remark, says, "Yes, I used to eat beef. But people exaggerate anything"

Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has remained very vocal about his thoughts and opinions, the Kashmir Files director has often remained in the news for his straightforward attitude and bold remarks be it his take on the boycott culture, nepotism, or the downfall of Bollywood. However, earlier the director himself became a target of the trolls after one of his videos about eating “beef” went viral on social media, reacting to the same he said that he used to eat beef and that people exaggerate anything.

Vivek Agnihotri Reacts To His Beef Eating Remark

A few years back during an interview with a news portal the Kashmir Files director, Vivek Agnihotri was seen stating that he used to eat beef. The clip went viral soon after which the director faced the wrath of the netizens and the social media users even called him a “hypocrite”.

While in a recent interview with Brut India the filmmaker finally opened up on the matter and said, “Yes, I used to eat beef. But people exaggerate anything. The clip that went viral is edited. Yes, I said that ‘I used to eat beef… but now, I am not eating it.’ They have removed ‘not’ from the clip.”

Apart from Vivek Agnihotri, the Brahmastra actor Ranbir Kapoor was also targeted for eating beef, the actor even faced a massive protest at the Mahakelshwar temple where he went to take blessings with his wife Alia Bhatt and Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji for their film. The protestors stated that they won’t let the actor enter the temple premises since he eats beef.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is known among the audience for his film ‘The Kashmir Files’. The film is based on the killings and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the valley in the 1990s. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar. The film became one of the first Bollywood films to cross the ₹300-crore barrier during the pandemic. The filmmaker is currently working on his upcoming film, “Delhi Files”.
