Dynamic director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s directorial film ’12th Fail’ starring versatile Vikrant Massey is garnering immense appreciation from the audiences countrywide. The movie based on ‘Anurag Pathak’s’ Novel-12th Fail; showcases the journey of a young student fulfilling his dream of becoming an IPS Officer. Produced by the filmmaker’s home banner ‘Vinod Chopra Films’ the movie also casts Sanjay Bishnoi, Medha Shankar and Palak Lalwani in significant roles.
According to trade analyst ‘Taran Adarsh’ the critically acclaimed film released on 27th October (Friday) managed to earn over Rs. 1.1 crore on its first day, followed by a massive jump doubling the digits to Rs. 2.5 Crores on the second day (Saturday). The movie even showed an upward trend on day 3 ( Sunday) minting over Rs. 3.1 Crores at the box office totaling to Rs. 6.7 Crores Net which in turn is a rock solid weekend collection for a low-budget film released at just a petty number of 600 screens.
The masterpiece creation has connected extremely well with youth aspiring to clear U.P.S.C Civil Services Examinations in the country. Critics expect the film could also bag a National Award for its Story and Screenplay again proving the quote ‘Content Is King’.
On the professional front, Vikrant is busy shooting for his upcoming romantic-thriller film ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ co-starring Taapsee Pannu; slated to release in 2024. While rumors suggest that Vidhu Vinod Chopra may come up with the 3rd installment of his blockbuster franchise ‘Munna Bhai Series’ anytime soon with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in collaboration with hit machine director Rajkumar Hirani.
