Internet sensation Urfi Javed took a dig at Uday Chopra and his brother Aditya Chopra in her Instagram story. Urfi downtalked about Uday Chopra’s looks and acting skills after Aditya commented on Uday Chopra’s failed career.
In a Netflix docu series titled ‘The Romantics’, he said, “My brother is an actor, and he’s not very successful. He is the son of one of the biggest filmmakers. He’s the brother of a very big filmmaker. Imagine a company like YRF, which has probably launched the most newcomers, and we could not make him a star. Why could we not do it for our own?”
His statement didn’t go well with Urfi and she called out Chopra brothers for nepotism. She wrote in her Instagram story, “The sheer ignorance in this statement irritates me so much, nepotism isn’t about success, it’s about opportunities. Uday Chopra wasn’t good looking (not that it matters but I’m making a point), wasn’t a good actor, his movies failed miserable at box office but he still kept getting work. Had it been some Uday Chauhan (someone not from Bollywood). He wouldn’t even get all those opportunities just after one failed movie. Are you guys going to defend nepotism by using this? Really?
Uday Chopra made his acting debut in his brother Aditya Chopra’s directorial ‘Mohabbatein’ in 2000. While the film was a blockbuster and Uday’s debut was duly recognised, he struggled in his career. He was seen in films like ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’, the ‘Dhoom’ franchise and ‘Neal ‘n’ Nikki’ but failed to leave an impression on the audience’s minds as an actor.
