In the book, Priyanka has revealed about yet another interesting incident wherein while taking about her initial film career days in Mumbai, where she had been told specifically to strip for a seductive song by director of a big bollywood film she had been shooting for and the situation later got a bit uncomfortable for her, following which she decided to just quit the movie. It was at this point that the globally loved Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had to intervene and diffused this entire situation as well.
In her memoir Unfinished which has become a best-selling book in the US, Priyanka opened up about how in the beginning of her film career, she was working in a really big Bollywood film, but within the movie, a seductive song had requirements of her taking off her clothes slowly. The entire song was really of a long duration and Priyanka gave a suggestion of how it would be much better if she wore more clothes so that then she wouldn’t really be ‘down to skin way too fast’.
The excerpt of this incident in memoir Unfinished says, “The director suggested me to speak to my stylist, so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed on the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: Jo bhi ho, chaddiyyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyun dekhne aayenge?”.
Later, it was indeed the tone and his way of taking with her which irked her and didn’t settle down well following which she decided to quit the film next day itself. When the producer came to know, Priyanka was asked about it.
She then also mentioning about how her co-star Salman Khan had to intervene and came to her rescue. The entire part of this excerpt read, “My co-star Salman Khan, who was and is a huge star in India, understood the situation immediately and intervened on my behalf…when the producer arrived, he had a conversation with him that defused the conversation. I’m not sure exactly what he said but the producer was in a much calmer state when he spoke to me”.
