These 5 Films Accused For Faking Box Office Numbers

Jawan is said to be the highest earning film of this year in Bollywood. This movie had a box office collection of Rs. 637.95 crore and globally it earned a total of Rs. 1140.5 crore. There are so many allegations people put in this film about faking the number at the box office.

This year Bollywood has given too many superhit movies. 2023 was indeed a treat for audiences and the audience created buzz for the movie, but to what extent? Movies released this year have made crazy box office collections within minimal times. The numbers these movies made are difficult to believe. 

Here are five movies which released this year are accused of faking the box office numbers. 

1. Tiger 3

Tiger 3, which had already made crores through advanced bookings, had made Rs. 44.5 crore on the first day. Within 2 days, it crossed Rs. 100 crore . And its current worldwide collection is about Rs. 282.27 crore. But Gaiety Galaxy Owner Manoj Desai made a shocking revelation saying, “The film is not doing well at all.” Therefore, this movie has been alleged to have false box office numbers. 

2. Jawan 

This movie of Shah Rukh Khan is said to be the highest earning film of this year in Bollywood. This movie had a box office collection of Rs. 637.95 crore and globally it earned a total of Rs. 1140.5 crore. There are so many allegations people put in this film about faking the number at the box office.

3. Pathan 

SRK, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, starring film, Pathaan, which was the opening film of this year, recorded earnings of Rs. 654 crore in India and Rs. 1050.30 crore globally. But it is said that the team itself bought tickets to hype the number. 

4. Leo 

After being a regional film in Tamil, Vijay’s Leo has collected over Rs. 600 crore worldwide.  It is the 4th highest Indian film to earn this much in 2023. The numbers are said to be fake but the producer cleared that up, saying there was not any intention to fake it. 

5. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani 

Kangana Ranaut blamed Karan Johar for faking numbers at the box office collection. This movie wasn’t an action drama but managed to cross Rs. 355 crore at the box office.
