Despite being banned in several states the film has now already entered the 50cr club at the box office within a week and is now inching closer to the 70cr mark. Sudipto Sen’s directorial, “The Kerala Story” has outperformed many recent Bollywood releases and became one of the biggest opening films of the year. Despite being banned and facing controversies, the film has now already entered the 50cr club and is now inching closer to the 70cr mark at the box office.

As per the trade reports, Sudipto Sen’s directorial, “The Kerala Story” is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. The film earned approx. 12cr on its 6th day at the box office. The film currently stands at a domestic total of ₹ 68.86 cr.

On the other hand, “The Kerala Story” has managed to beat several recently released Bollywood films like, Akshay Kumar starrer “Selfiee” and Kartik Aaryan’s “Shehzada”. With its current performance the film is expected to cross the 70cr mark soon.

About “The Kerala Story”

Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the drama film, “The Kerala Story” stars Yogita Bihani, Adah Sharma, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani in the lead roles. The film was released on 5th May.

The movie’s storyline focuses on the forced & radicalization of women in Kerala. The movie reportedly claims that almost 32,000 women in the state were allegedly forced to convert to Islam while many were taken to “ISIS”.
