Taapsee Pannu’s Anti “Animal” Opinion, Talks About Indian Audience’s Behaviour Towards Such A Movie

Taapsee Pannu made a comment of Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" saying it doesn't suit India's cultural landscape.

It’s been more than a month since “Animal” has been released, but people have been talking about the movie till date. There are various opinions filmmakers, actors and critics have put on regarding the impact of the film. CBFC has given adult certification to the film. We all know that it’s a completely misogynistic film with a lot of violence, male dominance, sexual abuse etc. The use of weapons is so great in the film that it gained massive popularity as an action film. After Javed Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut understood the severity of this topic and expressed their views, “Dunki” actress Taapsee Pannu talked about this film. Taapsee hasn’t seen the movie but has her say about it.

In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, she said that she does not belong to that group, who said if you could watch “Gone Girl’, then you could watch Animal too. She talks about the impact of a Bollywood film and a Hollywood film on the Indian audience. A Bollywood film can create a lot of influence on Indian people; they try to adapt the style, dialogue and even the ideology of the lead of that cinema. On the other hand, Hollywood movies don’t work much in this context.

Taapsee said that people feel that Animal critics are pretentious, but they don’t understand the cultural background of India. Movies like Animal have to be created with a positive end note and also the audience needs to understand that it’s for an entertainment purpose and one should not get influenced by such movies, she added.

As an actor, there are certain responsibilities and Taapsee wants to exercise it wisely. She would not like to do a movie like that. At the same time, she also clarified that she doesn’t mean to criticize any artist.
