Many actors deftly portrayed Lord Ram in Ramayan TV serials other than Arun Govil and gained popularity within time.

Arun Govil, who first portrayed Lord Ram on the television screen, also marked his presence in Ayodhya. Arun Govil appeared on television as Lord Ram in the year 1987 in Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan”. After Ramanand Sagar, many directors entered in epic serials and there are many Ramayan TV series made. Here are some actors who deftly portrayed Ram on the TV screen, other than Arun Govil. 

Nitish Bharadwaj 

Nitish Bharadwaj is famous for his character of Lord Krishna in the TV serial “Mahabharat” by B.R. Chopra, which aired in 1988. Later, he played the role of Lord Ram in 2001’s “Ramayan” on Zee TV. Smriti Irani played Goddess Sita. Director Ravi Chopra, son of B. R. Chopra cast Nitish Bharadwaj as Ram. 

Gurmeet Choudhary 

Ramanand Sagar’s son Anand Sagar directed the TV series “Ramayan” in the year 2008. Gurmeet Choudhary played Lord Ram in that serial aired on Imagine TV. He later appeared in many TV serials, but his portrayal of Lord Ram introduced Gen Z kids to Ramayan. 

Ashish Sharma 

In 2015, there was a serial on Star Plus “Siya Ke Ram” directed by Nikhil Sinha and Dharmesh Shah was part of the epic Ramayan. In that TV series, Ashish Sharma skillfully portrayed Ram. Serial has a little modern touch technically. 

Sujay Reu 

Sujay Reu is playing Lord Ram in an ongoing TV serial on Sony entertainment channel. Shrimad Ramayan started airing from January 1, this year. As its very new era’s shooting, the visuals and use of AI is impressive in this serial. And Sujay Reu is gaining popularity with the audience as Lord Ram.
