Actor Sushmita Sen, who made her acting comeback after a decade has won the Best Actress Award in the OTT category at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2021. Sushmita’s performance was widely appreciated for her web-series ‘Aarya’ that is streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
On her big win, Sushmita said, “The interesting thing is that when we started filming ‘Aarya’, there were no awards for web-series. So, we didn’t do ‘Aarya’ with a mindset that I will win Filmfare or Critics’ Choice Award or Dadasheb Phalke Award for it. I did it for the love of my work. And then, I was in Dubai, and I received a call that I have won Filmfare Award for the Best Actress for Aarya. I cried hard because I didn’t expect it. But I did expect the love because I have been very lucky to have such fans who love me dearly and wish me the best.”
