Sunny Deol Reveals He Requested Akshay Kumar To Avoid Clash Of ‘Gadar 2’ And ‘OMG 2’: ‘He Said No’

Sunny's 'Gadar 2' has made a significant impact at the box office, amassing an impressive total of Rs 515.03 crore in just about a month.

In the latest episode of Karan Johar’s popular chat show, ‘Koffee with Karan 8,’ Bollywood actor Sunny Deol made an interesting revelation about his interaction with fellow actor Akshay Kumar. During the show, Sunny discussed his concerns regarding the potential box office clash between ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’.

Sunny, who appeared on the show alongside his brother Bobby Deol, shared, “I asked him, ‘please don’t do it if it is in your hands,’ but he said, ‘no, the studio and all that’… and they said anyway two films can release, so I just said okay, go ahead. I can just request; I can’t do anything more than that.”

Addressing the emotional aspect of the box office clash, Sunny expressed, “It’s a very emotional thing if you ask me, frankly, because I thought my film was releasing, and I haven’t had success for years, and I didn’t want anybody else to come along with it. But you can’t stop anybody, so obviously it does hurt you, but then I said, ‘Does it matter?’ Let’s go along with it.”

Sunny’s ‘Gadar 2’ has made a significant impact at the box office, amassing an impressive total of Rs 515.03 crore in just about a month. The film has now become the second highest-grossing Hindi film, surpassing the lifetime collection of the Hindi version of Prabhas starrer ‘Baahubali 2’.

Directed by Anil Sharma, ‘Gadar 2’ also featured Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel in prominent roles.

On the other hand, ‘OMG 2’ also enjoyed a tremendous response from the audience, raking in more than Rs 120 crore at the Indian box office. The film starred Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles, further solidifying the success of both films in the competitive Bollywood market.
