Ajay Devgn’s Singham Co-Star Sonali Kulkarni Issues Apology For Calling Women “lazy”

 Sonali Kulkarni got criticized for her controversial comment about gender equality, now, after all this, she issues an apology. 

Well-known actress Sonali Kulkarni is in the headlines over her controversial remarks about “gender equality,” and criticizing women for desiring a partner with a high income. While many supported her, others vehemently disagreed. The internet was divided after her remarks. While many agreed with her opinion that women should contribute financially to relationships, others criticized her for holding the sexist belief that women should give up their entire lives to be with their lovers.

The Singham actress took to social media to apologize. She thanked the media at the outset of her post for responding to her comments and acting in a mature manner. She continued by saying that she had spoken out extensively in support of other women and that it had never been her aim to harm them.

She wrote, I’m overwhelmed with the feedback I’m receiving. I would like to thank all of you, especially the entire press and media for the extremely mature manner of connecting with me. Being a woman myself, my intention was not to hurt other women. In fact, I have extensively expressed myself time and again in support of us and what is it being a woman. I’m grateful to all of you for reaching out to me personally to appreciate or to criticize we will be able to have more open exchange of thoughts.

She further added, “In my capacity I am trying to think, support and share warmth not only with women, but with the entire mankind. It will be only strengthening if we women with our vulnerabilities and wisdom shine through as fair and able beings. If we are inclusive and empathetic, we will be able to create a healthier, happier place to be. Having said that, If unknowingly, I may have caused pain, I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart. I do not thrive upon headlines neither do I want to be the center of sensational situations. I’m a diehard optimist and I strongly believe that life indeed is beautiful.Thanks for your patience and support. I have learned a lot from this incident.”

As soon as her statement went viral, some women got angry at Sonali’s comment that “Indian women are lazy” and trolled her, and Uorfi Javed also criticized her.
