Shilpa Shetty is a renowned actress in Bollywood known for her versatile roles in films. However, she believes that she was never ranked among the top 10 actors in the industry. In a recent interview with ETimes, the actress opened up about her work and journey in Bollywood.
“I feel there is poetic justice in life, always. I was never among the top 10 actors in the industry. I may have received a lot of love and adulation, but I was never counted among the top 10 actors, maybe due to a lack of opportunities or for reasons I don’t know. Today, look at me; I am working on the biggest series. I have just finished filming a movie. I am also working on a multilingual film. I have nothing to complain about today. We all have our own journeys. I have carved a niche for myself on TV, and my brands are doing well,” she told ETimes.
She also mentioned that she has been underpaid and has overworked. Reflecting on her journey, she stated that she only remembers the life lessons she has learned and the love she has received from people. “I feel happy and proud that I have carved a niche for myself in this sea of talent.” When asked about reports of a movie being made about her husband, Raj Kundra’s legal battle and his arrest for allegedly creating pornographic content, Shilpa said, “It’s not my place to say anything” about whether Raj may produce and/or act in the movie.
Shilpa Shetty made her Bollywood debut in the 1993 movie “Baazigar,” which also starred Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. She was a famous heroine in the 90s and has appeared in movies like “Dhadkan,” “Life In A Metro,” and many more.
