Former actor Shamita Shetty has supported her sister Shilpa Shetty on Twitter. Shilpa Shetty and her sister Shamita kept away from social media after Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Police Crime Branch in a porn-related case.
On one hand, Shilpa’s world has turned upside down with her husband’s arrest and media bashing, her film Hungama 2 has been released on Disney+Hotstar today. This comedy film marks her comeback to Bollywood after 14 years of sabbatical. On the film’s release, Shamita supported her sister and asked her to stay strong in these tough times.
Shamita wrote, “All the best my darling Munki @TheShilpaShetty for release of your film Hungama after 14 yrs. I know you have put in a lot of effort into this one. The entire team has love for you and with you ALWAYS. You’ve gone through a lot of ups n downs in life & one thing I know for sure..you’ve emerged stronger!… this too shall pass my darling. An hour before the release of Hungama 2, Shilpa also took to her social media and urged fans to watch it. She wrote, “Hungama 2 involves the relentless efforts of an entire team that’s worked very hard to make a good film, and the film shouldn’t suffer… ever! So today, I request you all to watch Hungama 2 with your families to put a smile on your face and for the sake of every single person attached to the film.”
Hungama 2 has been directed by Priyadarshan and stars Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jaffrey and Pranitha Subhash in lead roles.
On a related note, Raj Kundra was produced before court where his bail was denied again. His police custody has been extended till July 27. The Mumbai Police stated that they suspect Raj Kundra indulged in online betting and used the money that he earned from pornography. According to an ANI report, “In the WhatsApp chats, we have found that Raj Kundra was talking about a deal about selling 121 videos for USD 1.2 million. This deal seems to be on the international level.”
