Tracking Shahid Kapoor’s past movies record it is noticed that he has tried out varied roles playing different characters. From chocolate boy to adapting intense character in Haider to drug addict rockstar in Udta Punjab to macho crazy lover in Kabir Singh and lately turned a cricket for Jersey. And now we have reports that Shahid Kapoor will act in an action thriller Bloody Daddy.
The Kaminey actor is collaborating with Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar for Bloody Daddy. The movie is reported to skip the theatrical release and stream directly on the OTT platform. With Bloody Daddy, Shahid Kapoor will make his OTT debut. Entering the digital space he will again play the character of a father after acting the same in Jersey. However, this time it is expected to be different as the genre of the upcoming project is an action thriller.
The makers of Bloody Daddy have decided to exclusively premiere the film on Voot. The date is not finalized yet but if we believe reports then it may release in the final quarter of this year. Bloody Daddy is a remake of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Nights) starring Tomer Sisley. This is not the first time Nuit Blanche is remade in Hindi. Earlier it was created in Telugu and Tamil as Cheekati Rajyam and Thoongaa Vanam respectively starring Kamal Haasan.
According to a source close to the development, “The action saga has Shahid playing a father who tries to save his child and involves a lot of blood and gore, so the title suits the film. It’s a tentative working title but in all probabilities, this would be the title they lock.”
Hailed for delivering amazing performances Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Jersey after Kabir Singh, both movies were remakes of South movies titled Jersey and Arjun Reddy respectively. On the work front, the Jab We Met actor will be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s next project. He will also headline Farzi backed by Raj & DK.
