Shahid Kapoor On Hrithik’s Comment On Stardom, “I Sacrafice Stardom Becasue…”

Shahid said, "I do not want to lose the actor in me, so sometimes I sacrifice the stardom. I am on the other side of the fence."

Many actors in Bollywood always have this pressure of stardom. Some always carry it with them, while some are always on the other side. Hrithik Roshan, who is constantly making headlines due to his latest movie “Fighter”, revealed that stardom feels like a burden. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Hrithik opened about his thoughts about stardom. Under the same banner, in another interview, Shahid Kapoor said that he had completely opposite thoughts to Hrithik.

Shahid Kapoor was seen promoting his upcoming film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” along with Kriti Sanon. When he was asked about Hrithik’s statement on stardom he said, “I can understand why he’s saying that, I get it. I have the opposite problem, I do not want to lose the actor in me, so sometimes I sacrifice the stardom. I am on the other side of the fence. His journey is very different to mine. Leonardo Di Caprio, Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar, there is definite stardom with heavy acting jobs. I have grown up watching that and I aspire for that.”

On the other hand, Hrithik said that stardom is kind of a distracting factor for him when it comes to acting. Stardom has restricted him from doing a lot more experimental things in acting.  He said, “I would fly as an actor if I didn’t have the burden of being a star. Stardom is a gift, it’s a responsibility, it fills the bank, I am up for using it well. Don’t get me wrong. It’s pressure. There have been many times when I’ve been unable to do a film because I have to uphold the star factor.” Hrithik is eagerly waiting to get this pressure reduced.

But Shahid had made a fair good choice between acting and stardom, and he always wanted people to know him through his work and not stardom.
