Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ Creates Buzz: Over 5 Lakh Tickets Sold For First Day Shows, Grosses Over 16 Crores

The Tamil And Telugu Markets Also Contributed, With 19,899 And 16,230 Tickets Sold

Shah Rukh Khan is all set for his much-awaited movie “Jawan,” which is scheduled to release on September 7. The advance booking for the film is now open, and reports suggest that around 5 lakh tickets have already been sold, bringing in a total business of Rs 17 crore.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, a total of 577,255 tickets have been sold for “Jawan.” In the Hindi market, 529,568 tickets were sold in the 2D format, and 11,558 people purchased IMAX tickets. The Tamil and Telugu markets also contributed, with 19,899 and 16,230 tickets sold, respectively. These ticket sales have led to the film earning a total of Rs 16.93 crore.

Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan points out that most of the tickets have been sold in national multiplexes, such as PVR (1,12,299 tickets), INOX (75,661 tickets), and CINEPOLIS (40,577 tickets). City-wise, Delhi NCR saw 39,535 tickets sold, resulting in Rs 1.91 crore, while Mumbai sold 39,600 tickets, generating Rs 1.57 crore. Bengaluru sold 39,325 tickets, amounting to Rs 1.42 crore, and Hyderabad recorded 58,898 tickets sold, totaling Rs 1.35 crore. Kolkata contributed 40,035 tickets, resulting in Rs 1.16 crore.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the film’s success, mentioning that “Jawan” has had strong advances at national chains and exceptional advance booking status at non-national chain cinemas and single screens. He noted that single screens in Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, and the Hindi heartland have shown exceptional results, with some exhibitors starting shows as early as 6 am due to high demand.

Shah Rukh Khan, interacting with his fans on social media, expressed his happiness at the record-breaking advance ticket sales. He mentioned that he is thrilled to see the audience’s enthusiasm for experiencing films in theaters as a community and that “Jawan” will be an exciting big-screen experience for everyone.
