Shah Rukh Khan returned to starring roles with his latest release, Pathaan, after a four-year hiatus. As the film continues to break box office records, the actor has reconfirmed his number-one status in the Hindi film industry. With Shah Rukh having two more films in the pipeline, many have wondered who will take over when he hangs up his boots.

The actor has recently started to interact with his fans on Twitter with an “Ask Me Anything” session on Twitter. The 57-year-old’s witty response to questions won fans over, with many praising his confidence and others saying his replacement will never be found.

During an “Ask SRK” session on Twitter Monday afternoon, Shah Rukh was asked by a fan: “Who will be the next big thing in Bellwood after you retire? @iamsrk you are the best (sic)”. Sharing the tweet, Shah Rukh replied, “I will never retire from acting… I will have to be fired… and maybe even then I’ll come back sexier! In response to the reply, one fan wrote: “I’ve missed this SRK. Others can stop trying!” Another tweeted, “Love your attitude.”

Since his breakout role with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995, Shah Rukh has consistently topped the Bollywood box office, with a few rare failures in between. After a few flops in the 2010s, Shah Rukh took a break from acting and returned with Pathaan. Upon its release, Pathaan easily broke the records for highest opening, highest one-day gross, highest opening weekend, and highest lifetime gross of any Bollywood film.

It is currently the highest-grosser Indian film of all time with a worldwide gross of Rs 988 crore. The actor currently has Atlee’s Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki in a row. Both films are slated for release later this year.
