Subhash Ghai, Inspired By The Blockbuster Success Of Sunny Deol's "Gadar 2," Has Joined The Trend Of Creating Sequels

Sanjay Dutt’s starring film “Khalnayak” not only achieved massive success at the box office but also garnered critical acclaim as a creation by filmmaker Subhash Ghai. Now, exciting news has emerged as a sequel to this iconic film is in the works.

Subhash Ghai, inspired by the blockbuster success of Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2,” has joined the trend of creating sequels. He revealed, “We have already planned to re-release ‘Khalnayak’ on September 4 through Mukta Arts Cinema, with over 100 screens. We will mark this occasion by celebrating the film’s re-release with the press,” the director shared with Pinkvilla.

Furthermore, Subhash Ghai expressed that numerous producers have expressed interest in sequels or remakes of classic films like “Khalnayak,” “Karma,” “Saudagar,” and “Pardes.” As a result, he is actively working on bringing these iconic films back to life.

Ghai added, “We have a story lab, they keep working on the story, and I am heading that department. People love nostalgia, and Ballu Balram of Khalnayak may appear on the screen in a big way. I have been getting many messages after Gadar 2’s success, ‘Why don’t you make Khalnayak 2?’ So we are contemplating on it and you will hear the news very soon. It will have Sanjay and a new star, both of them together”

Meanwhile, the directorial venture of Anil Sharma, “Gadar 2,” is making waves at the box office, having amassed an impressive collection of Rs 389 crore. It’s on the verge of entering the esteemed 400 crore club. The film not only stars Sunny Deol but also features Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, and Simrat Kaur.

As the cinematic world embraces sequels and remakes, fans eagerly anticipate the return of these cherished characters and stories, while filmmakers like Subhash Ghai continue to keep the legacy alive.
