Salman Khan Reflects On His Bond With Brother-In-Law Atul Agnihotri In The Movie “Veergati”

Salman Khan worked with his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri in the movie "Veergati" and he said there was no tension between them while working together on set.

Salman Khan has kept his fame alive with his style and film choices he makes. This superstar has given many blockbusters, but it gets difficult for an actor to pick a film after his previous hit. After the iconic film of Salman, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!” it was quite challenging for Salman to sign any movie. He signed “Veergati” with his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, after the huge success of this film. Atul Agnihotri is the husband of Salman’s sister, Alvira Khan. Though the film was a commercial flop, it received tremendous success through the sale of DVDs. Atul Agnihotri played a major role in the film. In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Salman talked about his bonding with Atul on-screen and off-screen.

Salman said, “When two actors are acting, there should not be any tension on the set. Atul and me, we are brothers-in-laws, and we are friends as well. So there was no tension at all. So when you see it on-screen, it looks like these people are friends.” Ahead he cited an example of the first scene of Veergati where Ajay (Salman) & Shlok (Atul) are together. He said, “It looks like these people are childhood friends; they have grown up together. That’s what we make film do well.”

The unique element of that film was Atul’s character. Earlier in movies, an honest man used to be portrayed as a weak person. But in Veergati, Atul who played Shlok, a decent man is not weak at all. Salman lauded his role as “Man of Principles”. Veergati was a whole new experience for Salman. The entire team of Veergati became a family. Also, he worked with a new face, Pooja Dadwal.

Later, Salman Khan and Atul Agnihotri didn’t act together in many films. After “Veergati in 1995, they did “Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam” in 2002.
