Saif On Kissing Rani Mukerji In Hum Tum- “It Was The Worst Kiss”

Saif Ali Khan once said that his kiss with Rani Mukerji in Hum Tum was the “worst kiss in cinematic history”. Saif and Rani paired for the rom-com film in 2004. It was produced by Aditya Chopra (now Rani’s husband). The film did fairly well at the box office and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics.

Much later, Saif talked about kissing Rani for a scene in the film. When he appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan, he spilled beans about the same. Saif appeared with his then-girlfriend (now his wife) Kareena Kapoor. He said, “Rani Mukerji didn’t speak to me much during ‘Hum Tum’. We get along well now. But at that time, she said, ‘Saifu, I want to talk to you.’ So I said, ‘Okay, what’s going on here?’ And she said, ‘There’s this kiss and I don’t want to do it. But you say you don’t want to do it or something like that. We did it because we had to. And Aditya Chopra thought it’s a lovely love story. We were so uncomfortable about it. It’s probably the worst kiss in cinematic history.”

In 2021, in a video shared by YRF, Saif and Rani again discussed the kiss scene and Saif said, “It was so uncomfortable. It made me so uncomfortable because you were so uncomfortable.”

After Hum Tum, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji collaborated for movies like Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007) and Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021).
