A while back, actress Payal Ghosh dragged Richa Chadha’s name while addressing the sexual misconduct allegations against Anurag Kashyap. After this accusation, the Fukrey actress took legal action and filed a defamation case against Payal for dragging her name into the controversy. Following the same, Payal Ghosh sent an unconditional apology to Richa. She even agreed to remove defamatory posts from her social media against Chadha. Now, Richa Chadha has finally reacted after winning the defamation case against Payal Ghosh.
Richa Chadha is obviously very thrilled after winning the defamation case. Opening up about the same, Richa told Mumbai Mirror, “The court has constantly recorded what is right and I’d not hold Twitter over the court. It is not just an apology; it is the consent terms as an undertaking, which is sacrosanct. My fans may want more, but this was not about money, only about my respect.”
For the unknown, Payal Ghosh allegedly has been going back and forth on her apology statement. Apart from the defamatory case, Richa also has demanded Rs 1.1 crore compensation from Payal.
Speaking about the compensation, Richa said that out of respect for the court and its proceedings, she has decided not to press monetary charges.
The actress further mentions that it has never been about money as one can’t put price on reputation. Richa adds that she sued Payal for compensation of Rs 1.1 crore which is very close to bare minimum in a defamatory case in the Bombay High Court.
Richa concluded by saying, “I didn’t start it, but I have certainly finished it.”
On the work front, Richa Chadha has the third installment of the Fukrey franchise in her kitty.
