Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court in a hearing held today. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde expressed his happiness over the same. In an official statement, he said, “We are delighted by the order of the Honorable Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies..the CBI, ED and NCB of Rhea should come to an end. Yesterday, the sessions court in Mumbai had extended the judicial custody of Rhea till October 20 but today’s decision of the Bombay High Court came as a relief for her. Though Rhea has been granted bail today, the bail application of her brother Showik has been rejected yet again.
Social Activist Rahul Easwar supports the decision of the court. He told a news portal, “What happened with Rhea Chakraborty was unfair. As an activist I am happy that the court has granted her bail.”
Rhea was arrested by NCB a month ago during the investigation of drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. It was found out that Rhea was procuring drugs for the late actor which is a serious offense. However, there was no evidence found that could prove Rhea’s involvement in Sushant’s death.
