Ranbir Kapoor Finally Apologises For His ‘Phailod’ Comment On Alia Bhatt, Watch Video

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently faced the wrath of the netizens after he called his wife and actress Alia Bhatt, ‘Phailod’ during a live session on Youtube for his film Brahmastra. Soon after the video went down on the internet, the netizens slammed the actor for ‘fat-shaming’ his wife and mommy-to-be Alia Bhatt. Ranbir Apologises For His Phailod Comment On Alia, Says “I am sorry”

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming much-anticipated film, Brahmastra recently grabbed the headlines after the actor called his wife and actress Alia Bhatt, “phailod“. Ever since then a whole army of netizens criticized the actor for his fat-shaming remark.

It all started during the live session of Brahmastra promotions, where Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ayan Mukerji were seen talking about the film and the interviewer asked why they are not promoting Brahmastra in the way they do for other movies. Alia replied, “We will promote the film, and we will be everywhere but if the question you are asking is why we are not phailod (talking about widespread promotion) everywhere, right now our focus is…” Ranbir Kapoor immediately pointed at Alia Bhatt’s baby bump and said, “well I can say somebody has phailod (indicating her gaining weight). He immediately added that he meant the comment as a joke.

While recently during the promotions of his film, Brahmastra in Chennai, actor Ranbir Kapoor was finally seen addressing the ongoing issue and the criticism of the netizens. In a video shared by Instant Bollywood the actor was seen apologizing for his ‘Phailod’ remark, he said, “Firstly, I love my wife with everything I have in my life. It’s a joke that didn’t turn out to be funny. It wasn’t my intention. I apologize to those who got triggered or offended by the same. I spoke to Alia about it later and she really laughed it off and didn’t mind it. I really do have a bad sense of humor and sometimes it falls flat on my face sometimes. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone.”

Reacting to the video the netizens were seen appreciating the actor for apologizing for his statement, a user wrote, “It’s ok between hubby and wife!! But brahmastra may not work for me”, another wrote, “So sweet but ppl should mind their own business it was said in tongue and cheek get over it ppl!”.

Ranbir Kapoor On Work Front

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Shamshera. His next release is Brahmastra, also starring Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna. He also has Animal with Rashmika Mandanna and Luv Ranjan’s next with Shraddha Kapoor.
