The pretty woman of the Bollywood film industry, Preity Zinta, turns 49 today on January 31. This “Veer Zaara” actress receives loads of birthday wishes on social media from fans as well as her friends in the film industry. “Indian Police Force” actress Shilpa Shetty, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh and many others took to their social media to wish Preity with immense love. In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, Preity talked about her personal life choices, her social concerns and her bond with directors in her professional life.
Preity Zinta stepped into this cinematic world because of director Shekhar Kapur. He once told her that she was destined to be an actress and from that day Preity never looked back. She has worked with many inventive directors, like Mani Ratnam, Yash Chopra, Rakesh Roshan, Abbas-Mustan and others. While talking about them, she said, “They don’t try to intimidate you as a director like I am a big director and I knew this little newcomer.” She said that Mani Ratnam, one of the finest directors, has an ability to connect with you and he is a very relaxed director. Preity did one film with him “Dil Se” and he made her so comfortable with herself that she never feared to perform. In her other film “Soldier” with Abbas-Mustan, she had amazing fun with them. She mentioned that it’s impossible to cheat with such decent and extremely down-to-earth directors.
She emphasized our duty towards our country. She said, “We are all Indians, and we always have to be together. And people should vote, they should know the kind of government they are electing. We should forget our internal differences and should stand together.”
Preity Zinta was last seen in the movie “Bhaiaji Superhit” released in 2018. She shifted to Los Angeles after her marriage with Gene in the year 2016. But now this actress is about to make her comeback in Bollywood. She was recently seen in India and will appear on the screen soon through Sunny Deol starrer “Lahore 1947”, which is a combined production by Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan.
