PM Modi Praises Pathaan In Parliament

In his speech PM Modi mentioned how the theatres are running houseful in Srinagar after decades.

Shah Rukh Khan’s spy thriller Pathaan, which is on a record breaking spree has emerged as one of the biggest blockbuster in the history of Hindi cinema. After breaking box office records, now the Siddharth Anand directorial is also hot topic among politicians. After TMC’s Derek O’Brien showered praises on Pathaan in Rajya Sabha, PM Narendra Modi also praised Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in his speech in Parliament.

In his speech he mentioned how the theatres are running houseful in Srinagar after decades. Both Shah Rukh Khan’s fans and cine-goers are not crediting SRK’s Pathaan for this.

Even though PM Modi doesn’t mention Pathaan’s name, netizens believe that the Prime Minister was actually crediting the film.

Just a couple of days ago, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien had mentioned the success of Shahrukh’s film Pathan in Parliament. Derek targeted those people who were objecting to Deepika Padukone’s saffron colored clothes.

“Well done (director) Siddharth Anand…. Well done India’s biggest global ambassadors. Well done those of you who made Pathaan. What we could not do, Shah Rukh Khan, Dimple Kapadia and John Abraham have shown this country”, he said.

“We learnt from them. Do not mess with India’s biggest global ambassadors. You asked them to boycott Bollywood, they showed you one film with a beautiful message,” he had added.

Meanwhile Pathaan, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham has crossed Rs 875 crore at worldwide box office, out of which, Rs. 445 crores are from India.
