Sriram Raghavan’s, much-awaited and highly anticipated film, Merry Christmas is finally out in the theatres. The action thriller, starring Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif with South actor Vijay Sethupathi was released in theatres on 12th January 2024. However, despite receiving positive reviews and reactions from the audience and critics, it is predicted that the film will register a surprisingly low opening at the box office.
Merry Christmas Box Office Day 1 Prediction
Well as per many trade reports, it is believed that Sriram Raghavan’s action thriller, Merry Christmas will register a low opening at the box office. As per Sacnilk.com, the action thriller starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi is expected to open at 2 crores. The expected opening figures of the film are shockingly lower than many recently released films.
Meanwhile, many reports claimed that the reasons behind the film’s low opening despite receiving positive reviews could be because 3 different South films were released alongside Merry Christmas and those include Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Dhanush starrer Captain Miller, and Tamil film Ayalaan.
On the other hand, it is expected that Merry Christmas will see growth during the weekend. The film could also see growth through word of mouth. The film has also received an IMDb rating of 9.1/10 which is relatively higher than many hits of 2023.

Apart from Katrina and Vijay Sethupathi, the Hindi version features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, and Tinnu Anand, while the Tamil version has Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, and Rajesh Williams.
