Malaika Arora Reveals Why She Never Acted In Films

Malaika Arora reveals why she never acted in films and why she wasn't interested in becoming lead heroine.

Malaika Arora started her career in the entertainment industry in 1997. She started off as a VJ and then became a dancer, model and TV personality. Even after 26 years, she is very much relevant. Her career took off in 1998 with a special dance number in “Dil Se” film. She shared the screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in “Chaiyya Chaiyya” song. Her item song “Gur Naalo Ishq Mitha” opposite Jas Arora also became a huge hit. Despite being in the Bollywood industry for 26 years, Malaika never took any acting offers. Even today, at the age of 49, she is seen doing item numbers, or else, she is seen as a judge of TV reality shows or fashion shows.

Recently, during the launch of her new song “Tera Ki Khayal”, a journalist asked her why she never became a lead heroine. To this Malaika replied, “Then who’ll dance?”

She further added, “I got a lot of acting offers over the years but I never paid attention to them. I always enjoyed dancing. I always enjoyed being on television. But I always say ‘never say never’. You never know! Maybe, tomorrow I find a role that excites me and I feel that I can do justice to it, Then I probably will.”
