Laal Singh Chaddha’s Golgappa Scene Makes Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta Curious

A scene from Laal Singh Chaddha has caught attention of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta that made him eager to watch.

The trailer of the much-anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha was released on 29th May during the IPL finale. The film starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor received mixed reviews on the trailer. Soon after the trailer was dropped Twitter was flooded with reactions, some appreciated the film while others trolled. Many fans and celebrities tweeted their reactions after watching the short edit of the film. Well, one scene from the movie caught the attention of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta and that made him eager to watch Laal Singh Chaddha.

While Aamir Khan was trolled for his look, acting, and remake ideation, there is a pani puri scene that has also grabbed the attention of many. Director Sanjay Gupta, who has directed films like Kaabil, Jazbaa, and Shootout at Lokhandwala, is one among others who is curious to know who sells pani puri in a running train. Yes, you got that right, those who watched the trailer noticed a vendor selling pani puris or say it gol gappa in train. The same has made Kaabil director restless to watch the film Laal Singh Chaddha. 

The filmmaker took to micro-blogging site Twitter sharing which scene of the movie has caught his much attention and is eagerly waiting for the release. Sanjay shared a still from the trailer, which showed Aamir eating a golgappa on a train, on his Twitter handle. In the scene, Aamir is seen delivering his dialouge flawlessly: “Meri mummy kehti thi ki ‘zindagi golgappe jaisi hondi hai, pet bhale hi bhar jaawe, man nahi bharta’ (My mummy used to say, ‘life is just like a golgappa, your tummy might feel full, but your heart always craves more’).” He then eats the golgappa.

The Kaante director has a crucial question of who is selling the golgappa’s in the running train and that has made him curious to watch the film. Posting the still he captioned “One reason I’m dying to see this film is who is selling Golgappas in a moving train.” However, Aamir fans didn’t accept this comment and trolled him. Backlashing the Shootout at Lokhandwala director, one fan wrote: “Jo Tushar Kapoor ko action movie pe cast kerte hein, wo Golgappa dhundh ne chale hein.”

Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi remake of Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks in the lead. The adaptation of the Academy Award-winning 1994 film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Advait Chandan, produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Kiran Rao, and presented by Viacom18 Studios. The film slated to release on August 11 marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya.
