Fan Explains ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ Is A Murder Mystery, Actor Agrees!

Man explains why 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' is a murder mystery film in a viral reel. KKHH actor agrees in comment section.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is an all-time classic romantic film made in Hindi cinema. Karan Johar’s directorial is a favorite watch among the millennials. However, a content creator has left everyone baffled by calling it a ‘murder-mystery film’. A man named Karan Mirchandani shared a video yesterday in which he said, “My favourite murder mystery of all time is actually Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

He added, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a murder mystery film because it’s actually packaged as a high school romance and it ends up being unsolved.”

Explaining his theory, he said in the video, “There is a girl who gets eight letters from her mother who’s mysteriously died, mysteriously written those eight letters convincing her daughter that her husband needs to get together with his high school lover. That’s so bizarre. Why would a mother write her daughter that? It is because Rahul and Anjali when they were in high school, they came across Tina who came from a lot of money and Rahul and Anjali didn’t. So they realized they want to set their future. Rahul can marry Tina. Tina can mysteriously die a few years later and then all the money comes to Rahul and then Anjali can marry Rahul. But the only snag is that Rahul and Tina had a kid.

He further elaborated, “So how do they make sure that the kid is on board of this plan as well without knowing what happened? If the kid thinks it was her idea this whole time. If the kid thinks that her mom delegated this task to her to get Rahul and Ajali to be together then the kid’s out of the way. She believes she loves this new mom now. So now they get the money and the daughter is on board. It’s a brilliant plan. It’s the only murder mystery where the killers never get caught.”

The video is now going viral on Instagram and other social media platforms. His reel has already crossed 7 million views on Instagram.

Interestingly, KKHH actor Parvaan Dastur who played the role of a mute Punjabi guy agrees with this theory. He wrote in the comment, “Oh shit! They threatened me and made me lose my voice! Can’t believe I was tricked into becoming an accomplice.

A netizen said, “Let me go back n watch the film now with this newer perspective.”

People on the Internet contributed to the conspiracy theory. A person wrote in comments, “And Aman is police/insurance investigator who has come to find out the truth because he always had had his doubts regarding Tina’s death. He reaches the summer camp carrying the proof of her murder but he is too late. Anjali is already smitten by badi Anjali and as it wasn’t his intention to marry badi Anjali in the first place he gives her upto Rahul (he was banking on him to show up) and once they get married, that’s when he will reveal the truth and arrest them as a couple (this part i guess was deleted in the edits).”

Someone stated, “It was all in Rahul’s head. He had scizophrenia and was locked in a mental asylum.”

A netizen dropped a funny comment on the reel as he wrote, “That one unemployed friend at 10am.”

Someone called it, “Anurag Kashyap directing KKHH.”

However, some die-hard fans of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai argued that his conspiracy theory is baseless. A person went on to explain, “Looks like you missed first scene altogether. Must be buying popcorns outside.Tina died due to bleeding at the time of delivery, letters handed by her itself to MIL. Going by the house at the time of engagement and the time when Anjali was away at the summer camp and Selmon bhai was at her house, Anjali was far more loaded than Tina as Tina lived in her father’s home on college grounds as he was the principal. There was no need to marry Tina for money anyway as her daughter Anjali would have got the principal’s money anyway. Only grey area is that the MIL could have changed the letters but considering the satsangi she was, I am highly doubtful.”

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai features Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. The film was released in 1998.
