Actor Khuman Nongyai is currently seen in the project Meenakshi Sundareshwar. It’s his debut film and he is playing the role of Diganta, friend of Abhimanyu Dassani in the film. Khuman Nongyai comes from Silchar in Assam. He is an engineer by profession and it’s his acting debut in the Netflix film. Talking about his journey, he says, ” Well it was not easy but definitely adventurous and exciting. I love Mumbai and Mumbai is very different from other cities so I can call it a roller coaster ride and it was a very big opportunity to work in such a film produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta.”
Further sharing about his experience of shooting with Abhimanyu Dassani, he says, “It was fun shooting. My scenes were mostly with Abhimanyu and I simply loved working with him. He is very calm, humble and very supportive. As an actor, I can say one thing that he is natural and loaded with skills. Abhimanyu always used to come up with some crazy challenges on set. Once he challenged me to finish a glass of bitter gourd juice. It was a crazy experience.”
Lastly, sharing the feedback he has been receiving, Khuman says, ” I am happy with the appreciation I am receiving for my character. My cell is flooded with messages from the people of my town- Silchar. It was a very big opportunity and I love the appreciation from the audience.”
Meenakshi Sundareshwar started premiering on Netflix on Nov 5. The film stars Sanya Malhotra alongside Abhimanyu Dassani.
