Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar was recently seen going all praise for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 film, Animal. During his interview, Karan Johar revealed that he even “cried” during the climax scene of the film, further calling Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal “the best film of the year”.
At the Roundtable 2023 organized by Galatta Plus, Karan Johar said, “People have come up to me after I spoke about how much I loved Animal, and said, ‘You have made Rocky Aur Rani,’ That’s the vaccination for a film like Animal. It’s the opposite extreme. I said that I cannot disagree with you more, because Animal to me is the best film of the year.”
The filmmaker further revealed that it took him a while to reach this statement and a lot of courage because he feared being judged by people. He said, “When you are around people, you fear judgment. Like during the time of Kabir Singh, which I also loved. I was like I am going to say this and I am going to get dirty looks from certain people but I don’t care anymore.”
Karan Johar further revealed that he had watched Animal twice and cried during the climax scene of the film.
Animal Story
Talking about Animal, the film revolves around the relationship of a father and son duo. Ranbir who plays Ranvijay Singh exacts revenge upon people who try to assassinate his father (Anil Kapoor). Eventually, during the climax, he kills Abrar (Bobby Deol). The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and others.
