‘Jawan’ Box Office Collection: Becomes Bollywood’s Highest Grossing Film, Crosses Rs 600 Crore Mark

The mass masala entertainer film “Jawan,” which was released on the occasion of Janmashtami on September 7, 2023, has shattered all records at the box office by crossing the Rs 600 crore mark in Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film’s box office collection stands at Rs 548 crores net in Hindi, as reported by Sacnilk, bringing the total to a whopping Rs 611.62 crore, earning it the title of an “ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER.”

The movie’s worldwide collection has reached a staggering Rs 1068 crore and is still counting.

“Jawan” also happens to be SRK’s second film to cross the 500 crore mark in the Indian market, following “Pathaan,” and it has surpassed the magic number collection of “Gadar -2” (Rs 523 crores), solidifying its position as the ‘Baadshah Of Box Office,’ much like its actor, Shah Rukh Khan, is referred to as the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood.’

Netflix secured the OTT rights for “Jawan” at an astounding price of Rs 250 crores, as reported by Indiatimes, while the music rights of the film were acquired by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series for Rs 36 crores, as reported by India Today.

Made with a substantial budget of approximately Rs. 300 crore, the film is now reaping huge profits following its success in India and around the world. It is also the most profitable film produced by ‘Red Chillies Entertainment,’ the home production house of Shah Rukh Khan.

The highly anticipated film generated buzz due to its larger-than-life star cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The movie features Vijay Sethupathy and Nayantara, superstars from the Tamil and Telugu industries, making it a ‘Pan India’ film. Sanya Malhotra, known for her role in “Dangal,” and National Award-winning actress Priyamani play significant supporting roles in the movie. Deepika Padukone, the reigning queen of Bollywood and a good luck charm for SRK, also makes an extended cameo, adding charisma and craft to this blockbuster!

The director of the film, Atlee, is highly rated and appreciated in the Tamil film industry. “Jawan” marks his first Bollywood creation, which has passed the litmus test with flying colours by becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film.

Anirudh, the rockstar music director of the film who has composed music in three different languages, has captured the hearts of people. “Jawan’s” music is trending all over social media and is being adored by both the masses and the classes.

In “Jawan,” SRK portrays a father-son duo (double role) who team up to combat corruption in society. All in all, the film is a mass entertainer and has proven itself on the silver screen.
