Imtiaz Ali Wanted To Cast Bobby Deol & Sunny Deol In “Jab We Met & “Highway”

Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali who has given several blockbuster hit films to the Hindi film industry recently revealed that he wanted to cast Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol for his all-time popular films, “Jab We Met” and “Highway”.

In a recent conversation with Lallantop, the filmmaker revealed that he initially wanted to cast Bobby Deol in Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer all-time popular film, “Jab We Met”. Imtiaz Ali stated that both he and Bobby were good friends at the time and so he considered Bobby as a “great fit” for Jab We Met.

However, the actor kept on delaying the film since he was being offered several projects and films by well-known directors at the time. Due to the continuous delay, Imtiaz revealed that he had no choice but to drop Bobby Deol from the cast.

During the same conversation, the filmmaker also revealed that Sunny Deol was also his first choice for his popular film, “Highway” featuring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda. The director revealed that he even discussed the possibility with Subhash Ghai. Subhash Ghai also mentioned to Imtiaz Ali that the script of Highway resembled his 1983 movie, Hero.

Meanwhile, on the work front, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Chamkila, featuring Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. The story of the film revolves around the life and legacy of the renowned singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who captivated Punjab with his music.
