Hrithik Roshan appeared in a gangster look in his latest release Vikram Vedha while Karthi featured in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I. Both are full of praises of each other despite their films clashing at the box office. Vikram Vedha and Ponniyin Selvan I were released in theaters on Friday, 30th September.
On the release day, Karthi took to his official Twitter handle to wish luck to the Vikram Vedha team. Not just that he is also looking forward to watching the action thriller. Neither the team of Vikram Vedha nor the PS 1 team has any hard feelings as they are clashing at the theaters. In his short note, Karthi tweeted, “Wishing @iHrithik, #SaifAliKhan. @PushkarGayatri and team a huge success for #VikramVedha. Looking forward to watch the film soon.”
Pushkar and Gayathri who directed both Tamil and Hindi versions of the film replied to Karthi’s message. The director duo wrote, “Thanks a ton! @Karthi_Offl. Eagerly waiting to watch #PonniyinSelvan1 Our heartiest wishes for Mani Sir and the entire team for the epic!”
Hrithik also responded to Karthi’s note, writing, “Thank you so much for your wishes Karthi! #PS1 looks amazing & I’m hearing only good things about the film. Will be watching it soon. My love & best wishes to Mani Ratnam Sir & the entire team. More power to you all.”
Vikram Vedha is a Hindi remake of the Tamil movie of the same name. The original film featured R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati in the lead role. The 2017 film was directed by duo Pushkar Gayathri who is again directing the Hindi version. The lead cast, R Madhavan who played Vikram is replaced by Saif Ali Khan whereas Hrithik Roshan superseded Vijay Sethupathi as Vedha. Helmed by the duo Pushkar-Gayathri the action crime film is produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra, Bhushan Kumar, S. Sashikanth, and Vivek Agrawal. The film opened in theaters on September 30, 2022.
Ponniyin Selvan I is an official adaptation of a historical fiction novel in the same name. Ponniyin Selvan novel is written by Kalki Krishnamurthy in Tamil. The magnum opus is directed by Mani Ratnam and features an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others. It is an epic period action pan-India film to be released in multiple languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Part one of the movie is set for worldwide release on September 30. Helmed by Mani Ratnam the film is produced under the banners of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
