Happy News For Moviegoers: Tickets Priced At Rs 75 To Celebrate National Cinema Day

Moviegoers can watch films on the big screen at a shoestring budget on National Cinema Day

Movie tickets would cost just Rs 75 across the country to celebrate National Cinema Day, on 16th September. Multiplex Association of India (MAI) announced this initiative and offered a special price to celebrate National Cinema Day. This comes as a piece of great news for all the moviegoers in India. 

16th September will be observed as National Cinema Day to celebrate the successful reopening of theaters. According to reports movie tickets will cost just Rs. 75 at more than 4,000 theaters across India. 4000 theaters will include major chains like PVR, INOX, Cinépolis, Carnival, Miraj and Citypride, Asian, Mukta A2, and Movietime.

Movie lovers can now enjoy films on big screens for just Rs 75 without making a hole in pocket. However, it is worth noting that additional taxes will be imposed if purchases are made through online third-party apps or websites. Taxes are not included in the price.

Times of India published a statement by MAI about the successful reopening of theaters after the pandemic. The statement read, “The first quarter of the Fiscal Year 2023 has recorded impressive numbers among cinema operators on the back of global and local tent poles that resonated with the Indian audience. The quarter was marked by the release of some of the biggest domestic hits like KGF: Chapter 2, RRR, Vikram, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Hollywood hits like Doctor Strange and Top Gun: Maverick.

Producer Vinod Bachchan delighted by the initiative said, “I think this is wonderful news for cinema lovers all across the Country. MAIs decision to celebrate national cinema day by offering tickets at ₹75 to consumers, might bring audiences together to enjoy a day in the theatres. I am delighted that our film Jahaan Chaar Yaar releasing on 16th Sept can be enjoyed by the audience on the National Cinema Day.”

Films releasing in September will be available at the lowest price of Rs 75 in multiplexes. Movies will cost just Rs 75 across India in 4000 theaters on 16th September to celebrate National Cinema Day.
