Last year in the month of October, Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his first-ever venture with actress Alia Bhatt. The film, titled “Gangubai Kathiawadi” will be based on Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. In this film, Miss Bhatt will play the role of Gangubai, a brothel owner, and matriarch.
Ever since Alia Bhatt was announced as the main lead of “Gangubai Kathiawadi”, fans have been eagerly waiting to witness the Raazi girl in her new avatar. Their patience will soon be rewarded as Alia Bhatt took on her Instagram handle to announce that her first look from the film “Gangubai Kathiawadi” will be out tomorrow, which is 15 January 2020.
Alia made this declaration by posting a short video on her Instagram.
The audience will witness a breathtaking new avatar of Alia Bhatt since her last appearance in Gully Boy released last year. The anticipation level is at its peak of what might Alia look like owing to her exceptionally challenging character portrayal.
The official Twitter handle of Bhansali productions also posted the same video as Alia, to confirm the news from both sides. The shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi began last year in December. Alia Bhatt also shared a photo of a nameplate with “Gangubai” written on it. She captioned this photo by writing, “Look what Santa gave me this year.”
On the work front, Alia Bhatt is also busy shooting for Ayan Mukherji directed Brahmastra. This movie will also feature Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.
