Actor Kumud Mishra is currently making a buzz for playing a sexologist in Sony Liv’s latest web series Dr Arora. The series also features Vidya Malvade and Sandeepa Dhar in pivotal roles. Kumud Mishra is known for playing supporting roles in films like Patiala House, Rockstar, Filmistaan, Rustom, Airlift, Jolly LLB 2, Thappad, Tadap and Sooryavanshi. During an interview with senior journalist Bharathi S Pradhan for Lehren, Kumud Mishra recalled the most challenging roles of his career.

He revealed that playing a good father in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad was the most challenging role of his life. Kumud Mishra shared screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Ratna Pathak Shah in Thappad as they played his daughter and wife respectively. Elaborating on his challenges, Kumud said, “Thappad was very difficult. As a character, Thappad was difficult because it’s very easy to say good father but how do you make him human and good. Good characters are always projected flat and that’s why negative characters are very exciting to perform and watch as well. Varied layers can easily be found in a negative character. But as an actor, it is very difficult to find layers in a good character. It was very difficult for me. Ratna Pathak Shah has contributed a lot. She is a very capable actor.”

Thappad was released in 2022 and received positive reviews from critics.

Kumud Mishra will be next seen in Hindi film Kuttey. The film reportedly features stars Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Arjun Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj. After wrapping up the shoot of Kuttey, Kumud is currently in England to shoot for Akshay Kumar’s Capsule Gill.
