Dilip Kumar Film Festival On Cards To Celebrate 100th Birth Anniversary Of The Legend

Film Heritage Foundation is planning to organize Dilip Kumar Film Festival on his 100th birth anniversary this year

After the successful Amitabh Bachchan Film Festival, the same initiative is in the works for Dilip Kumar. Film Heritage Foundation in association with PVR organized a special film festival for Big B on his 80th birthday. Film Heritage Foundation is now planning to celebrate 100th birth anniversary of one of the legends of the Golden Age of Indian cinema.

Pinkvilla exclusively spoke to FHF founder Shivendra Singh Dungarpur. He mentioned that post receiving a good response for the Amitabh Bachchan film festival they are now planning a fest for legendary Dilip Saab, who passed away last year on 7th July, 2021. 

FHF founder Shivendra Singh Dungarpur said to the portal, “Yes, that is the plan, but now there is a challenge of finding the right material for the festival, like how it was for Bachchan: Back To The Beginning. However, there is no better way to celebrate the legacy of Dilip Saab but by showcasing his work.”

He continued, “By doing that you’re not just celebrating him but all the people who have worked with him over the years. So, we would really like to do it, and I hope we are able to pull it off. Really looking forward to it.”

It is suspected that Film Festival for legendary Dilip Kumar will be held in December. If the idea is executed as planned late actor Dilip Kumar’s fans and the Cinephiles will be treated with a film fest in December this year. This will be to mark the iconic actor’s 100th birth anniversary which will be celebrated on 11th December.

To revise, Dilip Kumar took his last breath last year on 7th July 2021. He left behind his actor wife Saira Banu. Kumar suffered from advanced prostate cancer that had spread to other organs of his body. Known as the tragedy king of Bollywood, he took his last breath at the age of 98. 

The veteran actor has delivered some remarkable movies throughout his career in Indian Cinema. To name a few of his movies, the late actor appeared in Mughal-e-Azam, Saudagar, Devdas, Ram Aur Shyam, Madhumati, Aan, Leader, Amar, Deedar, Daag, Andaz, Nadiya Ke Paar and Arzoo among others. 

For the unversed Film Heritage Foundation celebrated Amitabh Bachchan’s 80th birthday with Bachchan: Back To The Beginning. It was a 4 days special screening of megastar films starting from 8th October to 11th October. PVR Cinemas handpicked Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic movies and screened them in 22 theaters across 17 cities.
